As reported by the official website of the customs agency of the Republic of Lithuania, customs officers of the Vilnius airport discovered several packages with antique objects, which had no documentation permitting their removal from Lithuania, during an inspection of postal items on October 10th, 2020.

One of the packages addressed to someone in the UK contained four pieces of an ancient suit of armour. In the package being sent to France, a Roman soldier's helmet, presumably from the III century BC, was found. In the third package, there was an ancient Greek infantry helmet, which was first used in Ancient Greece in approximately the VI century BC.

All the packages were seized by customs officers and will soon be handed over to specialists from the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania for an expert evaluation.
