During the period from 31 January to 4 February, 2022, Hermann Historica will host the regular online auction and put up exclusive collectibles of European and Asian art, antiquities, an extensive collection of posters by Willi Engelhardt, and traditionally rare military antiques – body armour, uniform, helmets, military awards and decorations – in total 3689 lots.

The tournament armour in the style of the 16th century, 20th century (starting price € 2,500). Reinforcement of the brow. The beard is screwed to the chest and helmet, side ventilation holes. Ridged chest with hinged neck and armholes, matching back plate. Shield screwed to the left side. Pauldrons of several lames with large shoulders. The hand guards of the tournament tails with two lames. Skirt with attached upper tassets with several lames, the closed lower tassets with attached beaked shoes. Surfaces blackened. Decorative harness of modern sheet metal with a continuous material thickness of ca. 1 - 1,5 mm.

A German suit of armour in the style of the 16th-17th century, collector's replica of the 20th century (starting price € 1200). Large one-piece helmet with a crest attached to a slightly ribbed cuirass with raised depiction of the Maltese cross, and two tassets. Plate legs.

A pair of Indian gold-damascened bracers (bazu band), 18th century (starting price € 880). Each of the two curved iron bracers with a double hinged wrist protector on the underside, fastened with a split pin. The edges continuously reinforced and riveted, the surfaces all arranged in ornamental segments with floral gold inlays. Slightly corroded and grimy, the gold inlays rubbed in places.

An etched Persian helmet (kulah khud), 19th century. Domed one-piece skull is crowned with spike and base plate. Adjustable nasal guard, fitted with two plume holders. Embossed with floral and foliate motifs, decorated with a band of cartouches comprising inscriptions. Aventail of butted iron rings.

A chamfron, historicism in the style of the 16th century, 19th century (starting price € 450). Forged throughout with a roped ridge and rivets extending nearly its full length. Comprises several parts. Topped with ear guards and plume holder. In the centre adorned with a rosette with cloverleaf perforation and a six angle stud.

A chastity belt, collector's replica in the style of the 17th-18th century (starting price € 300). Iron, formed of two pierced plated hinged in the centre. The front and back plates with serrated border and cloverleaf and heart perforation above.

A Japanese katana kake (sword stand), Meiji period, for Daisho swords (starting price € 800). Decorated in gold lacquer with a pair of pheasants on a rock in the flower and foliage border.

Four Soviet headgears (starting price € 200) . Pilot’s hermetic helmet with collar seal, two helmets for tank crew, of which one is with night vision, and a helmet, probably, of Soviet origin with unidentified properties.

A helmet for an officer in the 7th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 96, 2nd Battalion (Reuss), c. 1910 (starting price € 1600). Lacquered black skull (blue felt interior). Fitted gilt guard eagle frontplate with silvered star. Spike base with stars, gilted chinscale, officer’s kokarden, leather sweatband. Inerior with green silk liner. Old paper label "Awes Marke 56".

  • Minor damages, signs of age. Back part slightly warped, small cracking.

A gorget for enlisted men of the German Garde du Corps Regiment, c.1900 (starting price € 1,200). Depot piece. Non-ferrous metal, the front gilt, a silver-plated trophy cartouche mounted with four screws, bearing the cipher "FR" below a crown, the dates "1712" and "1912" with the cipher "WII" below a crown. The support brackets on the back stamped "C.E.Juncker Berlin" (manufacturer) and "G.d.C. 3. 133." With a suspension chain.

Note:

  • Some screw nuts replaced. Signs of age and wear.
  • Condition: II
