The crisis has forced the Royal Opera House to sell its David Hockney painting.
David Hockney's «Portrait of Sir David Webster», which belongs to the Royal Opera House, will be put up for sale at Christie's fall auction.

Going through the most serious crisis in its history, the Royal Opera House has developed a plan of recovery after the pandemic that includes the sale of its painting by David Hockney, one of the most famous British artists.
On October 22nd, Christie's auction house will hold an auction where one of the lots presented will be the «Portrait of Sir David Webster». According to a preliminary estimate, the painting is valued at around 14-23 million dollars. The sale of the painting will allow to substantially ameliorate the financial state of the Royal Opera House.
David Webster was the chief executve of the Royal Opera House from 1945 to 1970 and was able to turn it into one of the best opera theatres in the world.
